A Sunny but Cool Weekend
I went cross country skiing Saturday afternoon. It was wonderful seeing the sun and the bluest of blue skies. No wind was a plus too. We explored a few new trails, getting into the “harder” but not “hardest” trails yet. Only one nasty spill. I had my usual problem with going down a hill and having…
Why I Loved My Stable Job
“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.” — Carlos Castaneda The weather we are having is so changeable – 90s last Friday and mid-70s today. Java and I went for a walk at the park last Saturday and it wasn’t as hot as Friday, but…
Where the Hell Am I?!
After a very rainy cloudy week, this weekend turned out to be weather perfect. Mostly sunny and warm and I took full advantage of it on Saturday. A friend and I went to Lebanon Hills Regional Park where Midwest Mountaineering was allowing people to try out a variety of kayaks. I was leaning towards a…
Simply Saturday
I took Luke to the park this morning. This time it’s Luke that has the happy feet. I’m not sure why I went with the lime green wraps. I think it was another one of those color purchases where I was thinking about being visible to hunters and not being mistaken for a deer. I…
While She Gets Weary
Not to sound morose or overly dramatic, but there are some moments that it seems I can literally feel myself dying. Of course, we all are dying in a way as we age. But generally, we don’t FEEL it — the body going cell by cell. Oops! There goes another one!
Staying on My Feet
I was trying to get the kitchen painted this morning, but Java was not cooperating. Her whining was getting on my nerves so I finished taping around the woodwork in the kitchen and decided to take a walk break

I just love that JAVA! Have a good day!
Love the photos. Especially, ‘Java shake’!
Java has a good life.
She certainly keeps me moving and laughing! I hope Java still feels like she has a good life when she’s stuck in an apartment with me.
Java looks like one happy girl. Don’t just think apartment…there might be an alternative somewhere.
Java, I love you! You are too darn cute! I love seeing her swimming!
It was in the upper 80’s here today, usually Sadie will just jump in her pool, I couldn’t get her to go in it for the life of me! Silly dog!
Such a cute doggie! What a life!
Great photos. And if you do have to move to an apartment, you’ll take Java to the off-leash park or find an unofficial off-leash area to run in. It’ll work.
I’m hoping I’ll end up somewhere with a fenced in yard, like a townhouse or duplex, or at least a door that goes directly outside. Wherever we end up, like Ari said, it’ll work out somehow. Those apartment pools are tempting though. Kids with stinky diapers go in there. Why not a hairy dog? 🙂
