I had to drive to my regular cubical today, a 45 minute trek versus the 15 minutes it took me to get the site we were implementing software at. Bummer. And right when road construction and gas prices seem to be on the rise. After work, I rushed home to let the dog out and…
We were promised a sunny weekend. They lied. But we did have a frosty fairy tale morning on Saturday. I only caught the tail end of the crystal coating As I was in bread and cookie production mode in the early hours. Comfort food… I have ridden Luke twice in the past week. The vet said to do…
“When written in Chinese the word “crisis” is composed of two characters – one represents danger and the other represents opportunity.” — John F. After my last post and some of the questions I’ve been asked, I feel like I need to clarify a few things on how adoption, adoptee searches, and opening records works in Minnesota. I’m not a lawyer or paralegal, so my knowledge is based on my experience along with whatever information I’ve been able to…
It’s been five years now since my birth father died. There are many times when he seems so, not gone. Times when I think about calling him — after I’ve run across his phone number or email address, still saved in my contacts. I can see and hear him as clear as if I’d just…
Today has been a tough day. I was writing a post about my old dog, Willow, but couldn’t summon the energy or feeling to make it work. I’m so worried about screwing up at my job right now. I work as part of a team to implement a new software system throughout the company. Our…

I like the sound of upbeatness that keeps shining through in this post and the previous one.
And, it sure looks like taking care of horses (and their manure) is a big job!
Wow Mary, it looks FANFREAKINTASTIC!!! And I like the new tude your sportin too!
Hey Mary! I am impressed! Your paddocks look beautiful, you have great company, the frig is full and having your sense of confidence become stronger is a good sign. Things are going to work out.
Thanks for all your comments. The two grey horses…that’s a postcard I had made.
The one on the left was mine (Marieke-put down at 19 for colic) and the other is her full brother (Hollander-an eventer). Anglo-Trakehners and beautiful creatures.
Berlin, the horse I ride the most (24) is her daughter.

That was a huge job! Lucky you to have the help and support, everything looks great!
Yes. The help was awesome! My sister and brother-in-law helped me get the place to a point I can somewhat manage and keep up with on my own. They also got me going on starting to sort through a life-time accumulation of stuff. They got me past being stuck in overwhelm mode. My family certainly blesses my life.
GP – Yes, definitely being strengthened and carried through this.
