Looking Like Fall, But Feeling Like Summer
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall. Leaves are starting to yellow slightly.

“Abracadabra and fiddle-dee-dee. My ego is outraged to see the new me… Abracadabra and body-ho-ho, my former neuroses, where did they go?” – Marianne Williamson, Everyday Grace During this rather drab, up-and-down temperature, little but snow-dust winter, I’m grateful I have a horse and dogs to get me outside. If I didn’t, I think I’d hibernate…
Last Saturday night, I dreamed that I had a baby — a beautiful baby boy, much like the one I had in real life nearly thirty years ago. But there were these people, there must have been five or six faceless beings, shadowed in dark hoods. They snatched my baby out of my arms and threw me out the door.
“Drums keep pounding rhythms to the brain. La de da de de. La de da de da.” Yeah, my brain is a bit fried with heat. Even though the temperatures have not been quite as insane the last couple days, it’s still been hot and humid. Add to that the lack of a good breeze…
It’s time to clip Java’s nails. I truly hate this part of dog ownership.

Great pictures! Love all those apples. And that snail and butterfly were neat!
That kennel is starting to sound like a nightmare. I hope you can get it figured out.
Java sure looks happy with the stick and carpet!!
Can you put up an ad on the bulletin board at a shop for someone to put the kennnel together? Is there a local paper with a handyman’s ad in the classified?
Lovely photos. Such a beautiful dog.
I think I have the kennel under control. It’s taking me a long time to finish it, but hopefully I can start gradually getting Java used to it it soon.
Yes, Java is a beauty! I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s always doing something comical to get me laughing. She’s truly been a gift.
I’m so glad that your beautiful animals keep you smiling. Java seems like the perfect imp for you right now!
The kennel looks like it’s coming along. A tough tough job!
