Looking Like Fall, But Feeling Like Summer
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall. Leaves are starting to yellow slightly.

I have this picture in my mind of a movement that happens without fanfare or gimmicky calls for attention. Where people simply do what needs to be done…
Last Friday, I took a post New Years vacation day and rode Luke in the morning. We had a good indoor arena ride, out of the wind and off the frozen, icy ground.
I’ve been obsessively writing for a few weeks. I’ve entered a secret world of words that I can get lost in for hours. Picture some kind of matrix scene where probes are attached to my head and I’m twitching and people are shaking me and yelling, “Maery! Maery! Wake up!”
I’ve been told I need to schedule more “fun time” for myself. It’s hard because there’s so much work to do around the house. I want to take more walks with Java. More horseback riding. But the days are so short now. I only seem to have enough time to work. Weekends allow for a…
Okay. I’ve been rewriting this blog post all week because it keeps sounding too negative and depressing. I think a lot of what I’m thinking and feeling comes from aging and feeling all the possibilities move out of reach in so many areas of my life. It’s hardest at work, where most people are younger…

Great pictures! Love all those apples. And that snail and butterfly were neat!
That kennel is starting to sound like a nightmare. I hope you can get it figured out.
Java sure looks happy with the stick and carpet!!
Can you put up an ad on the bulletin board at a shop for someone to put the kennnel together? Is there a local paper with a handyman’s ad in the classified?
Lovely photos. Such a beautiful dog.
I think I have the kennel under control. It’s taking me a long time to finish it, but hopefully I can start gradually getting Java used to it it soon.
Yes, Java is a beauty! I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s always doing something comical to get me laughing. She’s truly been a gift.
I’m so glad that your beautiful animals keep you smiling. Java seems like the perfect imp for you right now!
The kennel looks like it’s coming along. A tough tough job!
