Looking Like Fall, But Feeling Like Summer
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall. Leaves are starting to yellow slightly.

I took Friday off last week with the intention that I was going to do some writing, work on my blog, edit a bunch of photos I haven’t had time to deal with, and read some other people’s blogs. Did I actually do any of those things? Of course not. I arrived at the barn…
I’m not happy, I’m cheerful. There’s a difference. A happy woman has no cares at all. A cheerful woman has cares but has learned how to deal with them.— Beverly Sills (1929-) American Opera Singer Last Monday morning I was cleaning up manure and I must have gotten distracted, which happens quite often to me….
I watched Java walk past me for the tenth time as I listened to the rhythmic sound of paw, toenail drag; paw, toenail drag. Then silence. Java stands, nose to the wall, staring. I wait for her to whisper “open sesame” and for the wall to comply and let her through. But soon the paw,…
Saturday morning, I went to my friend Sue’s, where she and other artists had set up their work for an art show. I wish I could show you photos of the cool stuff there but, alas, I sent my camera to Canon for repair right before I stopped at Sue’s. You’ll just have to check…
I hate to keep showing the same old river shots and cold, stark photos, but hey, it is what it is this time of year. And the river keeps changing. It looked like it may have come up over the walking path and then receded again. I only know that I couldn’t get this close…

Great pictures! Love all those apples. And that snail and butterfly were neat!
That kennel is starting to sound like a nightmare. I hope you can get it figured out.
Java sure looks happy with the stick and carpet!!
Can you put up an ad on the bulletin board at a shop for someone to put the kennnel together? Is there a local paper with a handyman’s ad in the classified?
Lovely photos. Such a beautiful dog.
I think I have the kennel under control. It’s taking me a long time to finish it, but hopefully I can start gradually getting Java used to it it soon.
Yes, Java is a beauty! I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s always doing something comical to get me laughing. She’s truly been a gift.
I’m so glad that your beautiful animals keep you smiling. Java seems like the perfect imp for you right now!
The kennel looks like it’s coming along. A tough tough job!
