I’m Not Okay – Take It Back!
It’s been a few days since I posted. Not that I haven’t written tons and tons, but thank God I have demonstrated some degree of self control and not publicized my sad, grieving, horrifying thoughts. A word of advice, when you lose your love, do not read poetry like this: The Summer We Almost Split…
Pondering
You follow people’s lives in their blogs and you rejoice over the good times, but you hate seeing people go through the bad times. I suggest you read this post by Amy at the DVM’s Wife and KB’s post in Romping and Rolling in the Rockies and see if it doesn’t make you think about…
Nine Years Ago
It’s our 9-year wedding anniversary today and it’s been tough. I had hoped to be out at a fancy restaurant, sipping a glass of wine. I was REALLY looking forward to our 10th anniversary because I figured 10-years was worthy of taking a big trip — Hawaii, Ireland, Spain, a Mediterranean cruise — I shouldn’t…
Christmas Gathering (a couple days late)
The snow finally subsided enough to make the trek to my cousin A’s home to celebrate Christmas with her husband and their family today. Cousin A and one of her daughters were making cookies when I arrived. Daughter A went with a sunny-side-up, sugar cookie design. The great thing about getting together with my cousin…
Goldilocks Meets Xena
2009, the year my marriage went up in smoke, was the first time I tried kayaking. For that matter, 2009 was the year I tried a lot of new things. I was hungry for distractions and salve for my wounds. After paddling the Elk River with friends, I wanted to run out and buy a…
30 Days of Something
It seems like so many people are doing 30 days of something. I’ve done my own stints of 30 days of yoga, 30 days of bicycling, 30 days of meditation, 30 days of poetry, and so on. 30 days sounds doable. And if you can hang in there for 30 days, there’s a promise, implied…

This is beautiful Maery, I love Emylou…and you’re back!
Beautiful song which touched my heart. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Have a wonderful week!!! :o)
I’m too weepy to listen, so I’ll take your word for it.
Maery Rose, I am a cowgirl & have loved this peace of music by Emmylou. I raised this special Arabian who had been the horse I’d always wanted. We remained companions for 22 yrs, & altho’ I wished for many more, my boy was stricken w/illness and passed 11/09. My heart took months to recover & I will always miss him. All God’s creatures return to Him, so I pray someday he & I will meet again. Today I’m OK & T’ remains forever in my heart. Just thought I’d share.
