Just a Few Hurdles
After riding for an hour, I went back to the trailer to warm and unstiffen up a bit. Luke and I shared a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and oatmeal cookie. He really like the sandwich! Not so much the cookie.

“It’s a common belief that positive thinking leads to a happier healthier life. As children, we’re told to smile and be cheerful and put on a happy face. As adults, we’re told to look on the bright side. To see glasses as half full. Sometimes reality can get in the way of our ability to…
No matter how cute it is, DO NOT buy your dog a squeaky toy! I know you think your little buddy will have so much fun with it, and it will be so entertaining to watch them figure out that the toy squeaks and see their reaction and everything. And it is adorable — for about 15 minutes. Then,…
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall. Leaves are starting to yellow slightly. Maple leaves are starting to redden. Poison Sumac sure is pretty at this time of year. Leaves cover our usually clear path. Sit break. We’ve been going through a dry period again and the river shows it. However fall like it…
“When written in Chinese the word “crisis” is composed of two characters – one represents danger and the other represents opportunity.” — John F. KennedyThe reality of what my life has become and what it yet will be is a combination of pain and promise. At this time of year, when everyone is busy with family…
It is good to feel lost… because it proves you have a navigational sense of where “Home” is. You know that a place that feels like being found exists. And maybe your current location isn’t that place but, Hallelujah, that unsettled, uneasy feeling of lost-ness just brought you closer to it. ~Erika Harris I spent…
I saw this Pedigree brand commercial and started crying. Not because I felt “pity” for the shelter animals, but because I identified with them. “Maery’s not broken. She has simply experienced more life…” Too often I think my X broke something so deeply inside me that no matter how strong my will and my spirit…

You are really learning a lot…I’m just sorry the lessons are hard ones…at least they look that way to me. You are pretty tough girrl!
I love going to the park to see all the dogs and their people. And the eagle…what a bonus!
You are a VERY tough cookie…and so independent these days. I give you lots of credit. Turned out to be a good day after all.
A great day! You overcame some setbacks that would have defeated many people (injury, Java running off, trailer) but went out and enjoyed your trails anyway.
The bald eagle flyby sounds really cool!
Sounds like you had a great day, even with the trailer mishap, I am so proud of you and how you were able to handle it!!
I love the pictures of Java looking outside, she is so cute!
I was beginning to think I was the only one with mud, but I see you are dealing with it too! I hate what rain does, especially when horses are involved. Yuck.
definitely a kiss me o radiant sun (Son) day for you:)
amen

So glad you got to enjoy the sunshine. We had it grace us about half the day today.
Have a great week!!!
Sounds nice, despite the frustrations early on.
A few less hurdles would be nice. Especially with the bum leg.
Hope your knee is better.. you had a bad morning..but hey the afternoon sounded great! There are lots of things you can learn to do! I think you should find some sweet guy who loves horses and dogs and cook for him..but short of taking out an ad in the paper..I have no idea how you will meet that guy..although we have a couple of bachelors up here that would qualify! 🙂
