Happy Easter!
It’s almost Easter and I’ve been feeling nostalgic. My adoptive Mom was Polish and at Easter time she made a beet and horseradish relish that we called “Kassan”. I have no idea how to spell it.

Do you have tasks you hate to do or that bore the bejeebers out of you? Things like filing papers, organizing photos on the computer, and paying bills all come to mind. I’m sure you’ve read recommendations on how to deal with such jobs, such as “Set the timer for fifteen minutes and work as…
Today is the final day of my 30 day Writing Contract. I typed up what I was going to complete towards writing my book, signed the contract, and submitted it to a friend, who has been keeping me accountable. I didn’t complete my contract to the letter, but I stuck to writing almost every day…
It’s getting to that end of year time when we start to think about another year gone by. We wonder what next year will be like and what we want it to be like. What do we need to do or change to make next year better than this year? But I don’t know, 2015 was pretty good.
Whatever meaning This time of year holds for you Whether it’s entertaining Seeing your house become a zoo Or thinking of people lost And feeling kind of blue I wish for you love and peace In all your many days Whatever happens good or bad Remember, it’s only a faze Tomorrow’s a new day It’s…
Since I hit the road to drive from Minnesota to Arizona, I have heard people say to me, “You’re so brave,” which led me to ask the question, what makes a person brave? Or maybe more accurately, what makes a person LOOK brave? Because I sure don’t feel very courageous. Quite the opposite, really. There are…

Happy Easter to you!
I love this:
“My aspirations have come down a notch or two but I haven’t given up on my cowgirl dreams”
It caught my eye of course, because I’ve just had my first novel published, called “Cowgirl Dreams.” It’s based on my grandma who rode in MT rodeos during the 1920s. I grew up on a ranch & rode horses, but never aspired to be a rodeo rider!!
Enjoy your horses.

Having two different horses to ride keeps you on your toes. It sounds like you know them and their needs very well, I am sure you are very successful with them.
I liked the old picture. Traditions are great, even if you are the only one that eats the relish! 🙂 Hold them dear to your heart. (The traditions, not the relish, LOL!) Have a hoppy Easter!
What a great post Mary! I hope you had a very happy Easter… and hope see you soon. The relish sounds delicious, BTW!
Did you draw at the zoo?
Happy Easter! Sounds like you had a great time in CA. 🙂
I *love* those undercoat rake brushes…I wish I had discovered them 15 years earlier as my prevous dogs (Akita and a Flatcoated Retriever/Belgian Malinois or Tervuren mix) would’ve LOVED them….
Dog brushing story for you…Streak had never been brushed before, so getting her used to the idea was pretty fun. She no likes it but she is CERTAIN the white downy Streak undercoat is really gutted toy fluff and tries to play with it and separate it & spread it all over the house with enthusiasm. Gotta love those crazy dogs. 😉
