Coyote Stalking
I tried to get photos of a coyote in our pasture using my telephoto but even with the tele, I couldn’t get enough zoom.

Both dogs went to the vet this morning. Java just needed a heartworm test and to get her nails clipped (as long as we were there). Latte had her third round of puppy shots, plus Bordatella because I hope to put Latte in doggy daycare a couple days a week starting next week. That should…
It was up around 45 degrees today, unseasonably warm for this time of year. It’s sad for me that this will be a brown Christmas but I did enjoy riding Luke outside with my friend Cheryle. Before I rode, I noticed that Luke’s eye, which has been weepy for awhile, is not getting better, and…
Another weekend bites the dust. Shoot! Do any of you make “To Do” lists? Well, I do and I managed to knock a few things off this weekend, but still fit in some doing nothing time. The weather on both Saturday and Sunday was gorgeous, although at this point of extreme dryness and dead pasture…
It’s getting to that end of year time when we start to think about another year gone by. We wonder what next year will be like and what we want it to be like. What do we need to do or change to make next year better than this year? But I don’t know, 2015 was pretty good.
I’ve been obsessively writing for a few weeks. I’ve entered a secret world of words that I can get lost in for hours. Picture some kind of matrix scene where probes are attached to my head and I’m twitching and people are shaking me and yelling, “Maery! Maery! Wake up!”
This will be another short post as it’s been a gosh, darn busy week. And I’m pooped. After the rains, some mushrooms popped up. This one looks a bit on the mutant side (and slightly obscene or is it just me?). And I’ve gotten a few more tomatoes and peppers ripening up. With the rain…

Yikes! Coyotes scare me! We have them around, but have never seen one, I can only hear them. They were awfully close a couple months ago. Java needs to stay away from them! I have heard that coyotes are good at luring dogs out, so they can attack them. Freaks me out.
If only Sadie had a pool that big! She’d be lovin’ life right now, in this heat we are having! Java is so darn cute, frisbee catching, pool swimming addict!
Actually, that was well close enough for me! Yikes!
Very cute pool vid of Java…what a sweetheart!
Yes, my sister in Arizona taught me how dangerous coyotes can be for dogs. I try to keep Java always close to me, but when she takes off after one, all I can do is keep calling her until she comes back. Well, plus some silly chasing (this last time in my slippers) to wrestle that coyote with my bare hands if I have to.
Hey, a coyote’s got to make a living too y’know. I don’t want one close to me or my pets, but they sure are beautiful highly adaptive creatures and I appreciate them on that level.
