Summerizing
I worked from home today. Hard to concentrate at times because I keep noticing loose hair on Java that obsessively have to pull out.

“In a while, I will put on some boots and step out like someone walking in water, and the dog will porpoise through the drifts, and I will shake a laden branch sending a cold shower down on us both.” ~ from “Snow Days” by Billy Collins I hope to have more time soon to…
Yesterday I got both Murphy and Luke out for their first ride of the season. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos to prove that I worked with my horses so you’ll just have to take my word for it. I haven’t figured out yet how to take pictures of myself lunging or riding the horses. Maybe…
I’m not happy, I’m cheerful. There’s a difference. A happy woman has no cares at all. A cheerful woman has cares but has learned how to deal with them.— Beverly Sills (1929-) American Opera Singer Last Monday morning I was cleaning up manure and I must have gotten distracted, which happens quite often to me….
My dog Willow died in August of 2008. After more than a year of nursing her failing kidneys and the seizures she had, I ended up putting her down after she stopped eating and struggled to even get out of her bed. Right now, I sure could use the comfort and laughter Willow brought into…
Welcome to the Neighborhood Fox or coyote? The question appeared in the subject line of an email from my neighborhood watch group, along with a pixilated, blurry photo of a four-legged creature. I frowned, not out of concern over what the animal might be, but because I’d previously witnessed the reactions of neighbors to anything…
Here is proof positive that I’m not very good with money. I own a horse. And he’s looking kind of wooly too. And yeah, I left his sheet off after I rode so his sweaty self could dry a bit in the mild weather. Nothing says spend, spend, spend like a horse does. Make that…

Bugs are so miserable. The fly predators we have been using have helped so much! We have a fly or two around, but nothing like before! It is amazing how the predators really work!
I hope you find something that helps, I hated seeing my horses with the bites all over them!
Java is a silly girl, love how she piles all her toys up! Very cute!
Gnats are the absolute grossest! Well, ticks are a little grosser, and deer flies the most disturbingly persistent, but the way gnats drill a hole into you and chow down is really disgusting. Poor horsies! : /
we get bees here… DH got bucked off coupla years ago when a bee got in whistler’s proverbial bonnet..
sit down and ride

Ouch…so many bites! That is the cutest photo of Java!
Ah, I am an obsessive tuft puller, too! L is the only dog I have ever had who gets little tufts that must be pulled out. I catch myself following him around trying to snatch tufts of fur off his backside. I don’t think he appreciates it, but I can’t help myself!
