Life With Dogs

two dogs

I didn’t post yesterday as I spent most of the day outside with dogs and fat tire bike and horseback riding, taking advantage of a windless, winter day before the arctic blast of today. Today will be a housecleaning and writing day. But, oh, yesterday…

There was much dog dancing
And craziness

dogs playing

A bit of contemplation
doggie day-dreaming one might say

Gnashing of teeth
In mock jaw wars

By a head-on rush of black fur

Because dogs are the best
Entertainers and medicine
Known to this woman

Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs? ~ Mary Oliver

  1. Such delightful photos that put a big smile on my face. I wish we could have dogs! It’s really hard when you have two dog lovers in a family and one who is super allergic to pets.
Life with dogs is just better.

  2. I didn’t know that you had a new blogsite! Yay. I love seeing your dogs so happy, and I adore that poem by Mary Oliver. So very true.

I see you mentioned a fat tire bike. Did you get one? It sounds like it. So exciting! I’m actually having a new one built for me right now by Mr. SMRP (maybe you met him?). It has even wider tires than my current one. It’ll be fun!

    1. Glad you found my new home. It’s been a big learning curve (like I missed these comments for a couple days). It was an intimidating decision but the best way to learn is dive in. I’m sure there’s more you can do with the site with WordPress but I’m taking it slow.

And yes, I did get a fat tire bike. I made some mistakes on my choice, like the frame is too large and I’ve had to have adjustments to move the handlebars closer. I’d love to have one specifically built for me!

  3. PS Did you migrate all your old stuff over here? I am contemplating a move to GroundSite, using WordPress software. It is daunting to contemplate!
