Breakaway

It was a gorgeous weekend — sunny and temps in the mid to upper 30s. The horses were looking longingly out into the pasture so I let them out for a romp and captured it on video.

I had a heck of a time figuring out how to block out the video sound and add music, and I’m probably breaking some sort of music copyright law, but I thought the music tone and rhythm fit well. It’s a song called “Breakaway” by a Minnesota group called Furlough. And maybe someone reading this will seek them out and they can consider this free advertising.

I love Furlough’s music, just wish the lyrics were easier to understand but the bits I could catch seemed to match my mood as I watched my horses play.

By the time I got done editing the video, I was bawling, but it’s okay. I’m just appreciating how beautiful they are. Well, except for that nasty little Murphy sideways kick…

  1. Maery Rose…I love the video! The horses look gorgeous…you take such good care of them. I let mine go on the pasture too..why not? Not being a techie, I have never learned how to edit or add music. Did you take this with a digital camera? Hope all is well.

  2. Lori – I used a video camera. My camera does take video but probably not as well and not as easy to handle. To figure out the sound, I had to look at iMovie’s “Help”, which wasn’t entirely helpful but at least pointed me to the right buttons.

Lynn – I’m getting it bit by bit and patting myself on the back for each piece I figure out. I’m just glad the horses were so cooperative. Often I pull out a camera and they get all “boring”.

  3. They are beautiful animals Maery. I loved the video and the music that went so well with it. You have a right to be very proud of them.

God bless and have a glorious day!!!

  4. Oh wow, this was beautiful…I’m new here, came over from Paint girls farm. I loved this video. And your horses were so cute romping in the snow! I watched it a couple times too!
