The Seasons are a Changing
Yesterday was a strange weather day. It started out cool. Then the sun came out around noon and it got darn warm. Then a wind came up around 3:00. A COLD wind! And then a COLD rain.

Moving in little baby steps of separation, thinking that will ease the pain. Instead, each minor step brings another stabbing jolt. Ouch! The latest step was to open my own checking account. Woo… hoo… I’m trying to distance, trying to stop thinking in terms of “us”. It’s working so well for me, don’t you…
What ought one to say then as each hardship comes? I was practicing for this, I was training for this. — Epictetus (55-135 AD) Greek Philosopher My sister T and her husband P came to visit me from California. They arrived Thursday evening. Java rode with me to the airport. I had to drive the…
Interesting sermon at church today. The minister knew that people were looking at their watches and praying they’d be home in plenty of time to catch the Viking game against the Cowboys. So his sermon centered around the “home court advantage”. He spoke about what a difference it makes to be in a familiar place…
We had some promising looking rain clouds hanging around today, but once again, nothin’. So frustrating! We need the rain so bad! Luke’s front hoof looks like this from being so dry and stomping from the flies. I might have to put shoes on him for the first time in the 7 years I’ve had…
It’s almost Easter and I’ve been feeling nostalgic. My adoptive Mom was Polish and at Easter time she made a beet and horseradish relish that we called “Kassan”. I have no idea how to spell it. My Mom We had this relish on our hard-boiled eggs, kielbasa (Polish sausage), ham and whatever else we felt like…
“In the garden one can see the time coming for both fruition and for dying back. Your weather, sounds just like mine! We just went through a change, where it got really windy, than the rain started. It’s been pouring for hours! I shouldn’t complain, we haven’t had much rain in months! But I really hate the wet.
It is supposed to be pretty cold tonight, and my horse shoer is out early in the morning! Yikes! I just might be wearing my long underwear!
I love what you did with the pine cones! I love that smell!
Wind is always our first sign of winter. I hear that horses get freaked out by wind so I’m glad that you weren’t at the park when it hit!
Hi Mary…I photographed trees blowing in the wind too. A crazy day.
When will you close your pool? They are a lot of work when it gets to this time of the year. I am going to have to check out the blog you wrote about. No question…meeting people from around the world has been a great experience.
I’ll have to get some video of our winter wind storms. They *are* something!
We really need to skim our pond. It’s completely overgrown with moss. I keep threatening to put on waders and just slog my away across like SWAMP THING to pull it out.
Wow, those pine cones of yours are emence!
Yes, I love to cyber meet people too…it’s like the world get smaller.
