I Thought I Was the Only One

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” — C.S. Lewis

Luke and I haven’t yet been on a trail ride this year — I’ve simply been too busy. But my friend Cheryle and I took a short jaunt through the woods after riding in the outdoor arena. We so craved a breath of pine and the feel of dirt trails…

Luke perked up out in the woods, as he usually does, while I melted down in the saddle and breathed for the first time in weeks. Luke’s energy and desire to grab some grass goodies did not make for good photos as he kept turning and moving as I tried to line up a shot with my iPhone.

But what really matters is time spent with a friend and all the blessings her presence in my life has brought me.

I am also over on Vision and Verb today, hanging out with a collaborative group of like-minded women from all over the world who love to share their passion for photography and the written word.

“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in our own sunshine.”

Time spent in the saddle on your favorite horse, with a dear friend is magical! Healing whatever ails you!
