Earned their keep
These hands of mine
I hesitate to call the trip Steve and I are planning in June a “bike tour.” Most bike tours you read about are people taking weeks or months to bike down the coastline or travel from one side of the country to another. Whereas we are loading up our bikes with a tent, sleeping bags, food and cooking supplies, and heading about fifty miles away from home to a Minnesota camp site.

Finally! A nice day! Yeh! See Maery doing the happy dance! You know it’s been tough weather-wise when a bit of sun and temps in the 60s make you crazily jubilant! I often think that way about my body in general – you know, that it’s earned its keep – but specifically hands? What a lovely meditation. Your hands, poem, and photos, are beautiful. (but I do know the feeling of looking at my own hands and thinking “who’s are these?”)
