I have a post on Vision and Verb today about an unfortunate turn of events while I was on vacation. I ended up coming home two days early. But everyone is safe. Just a wee bit stressed out. Isn’t that what vacations are for? Before things turned to $#!+, I did get a few good…
My bare feet move across the hardwood floor. I can feel the grit the dog and I dragged in the day before stick to my bare skin. Walking out onto the deck, I grab my socks and boots from the doorway and hop in an awkward dance pattern as I brush off my feet and…
What a weekend! Saturday I went to the 50 on 50th Art Show and bought a couple things to fill an empty slot on my book shelf. The tree on the right was welded by my friend Sue. I have enough horse decor and decided I needed some art depicting my other loves — trees…
I was the child who climbed up into the cradle of tree branches with a book, a pen and my journal and observed the world from a safe distance. Maybe it’s time to come down and tell people what I saw.
‘To rest on one’s laurels’ – If someone rests on their laurels, they rely on their past achievements, rather than trying to achieve things now. My blog has been on quite a journey. It started out as a blog about my life on my dream hobby farm with my dreamy husband. Or so I thought….
It’s been a busy weekend. The weather has been too nice to spend very much time inside. I even took a swim in the pool! The water was 77 degrees, and I got a cramp in my foot as soon as I broke the surface, but it was still wonderful. I was hoping Sue would…

I like the sound of upbeatness that keeps shining through in this post and the previous one.
And, it sure looks like taking care of horses (and their manure) is a big job!
Wow Mary, it looks FANFREAKINTASTIC!!! And I like the new tude your sportin too!
Hey Mary! I am impressed! Your paddocks look beautiful, you have great company, the frig is full and having your sense of confidence become stronger is a good sign. Things are going to work out.
Thanks for all your comments. The two grey horses…that’s a postcard I had made.
The one on the left was mine (Marieke-put down at 19 for colic) and the other is her full brother (Hollander-an eventer). Anglo-Trakehners and beautiful creatures.
Berlin, the horse I ride the most (24) is her daughter.

That was a huge job! Lucky you to have the help and support, everything looks great!
Yes. The help was awesome! My sister and brother-in-law helped me get the place to a point I can somewhat manage and keep up with on my own. They also got me going on starting to sort through a life-time accumulation of stuff. They got me past being stuck in overwhelm mode. My family certainly blesses my life.
GP – Yes, definitely being strengthened and carried through this.
