Self Surplus Art Exhibit

I am writing this after just coming home from having a one hour, full body, hot stone massage. This wholly relaxed feeling is so foreign that some warped part of me wants to do battle with the Peaceable Kingdom to return to my high strung, whacko, anxious feeling world.
A body in motion
will remain in motion
until it is no longer in motion
In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer Talk about bursting into flame! My life seems to be taking off at rocket speed…
Last Saturday night, I dreamed that I had a baby — a beautiful baby boy, much like the one I had in real life nearly thirty years ago. But there were these people, there must have been five or six faceless beings, shadowed in dark hoods. They snatched my baby out of my arms and threw me out the door.
I’m flying to Oakland, CA tomorrow to see my son. He’s in his last semester at the California College of the Arts. His senior art exhibit is next week and I want to see him and what he’s been working on. It’s funny how I tend to think of my son like this. When he…

Cool! I’ve always loved line drawings. Not much to hide behind there. I’m sure Lain would concur, the vest is only to be worn ironically. You’re only allowed to wear it if you also wear the amo belt and skinny jeans, and maybe some punk ass shirt. 😉 If you do, please post pics!
Oooh! Scary picture forming in mind! Need to vanquish!
Love the show…wish I could have been there. Beautiful line drawings…it’s hard to keep context when working so large…great job.
Now, where can i get an amo belt? Do ya think it comes in a size 14?
Well! Lain’s drawings are great!!!! His surplus concept is excellent, and the white refreshments were perfect for the occasion. As a retired art teacher, I am impressed. It looks like you and your sister had a great time. Thanks for the comments.
I love your son’s line drawings – the simplicity is great. I bet that he was very glad to have family there!
